MFM FC duo wins LBA Player and Coach of the month

MFM FC Striker, Stephen Odey and his coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu have both been named the League Bloggers Awards (LBA) Player and Manager for March respectively.

MFM FC coach, was outstanding in the month of March, after leading the team to  four wins, two draws and two losses.

‘The working One’ as he’s been called, got two away draws at Calabar against Enyimba and Bauchi against  Wikki Tourists and then followed up with two consecutive wins over title contenders Plateau United and Continental side, Rivers United.

Ilechukwu won the award ahead of Kabiru Dogo of Nasarawa United, Abdullahi Biffo of Abia Warriors and Kadiri Ikhana of Kano Pillars.

In-Form Stephen Odey was the main scorer for MFM FC in March, scoring seven of their 10 goals in March – 70 per cent of their total goals for the month under review.

He got the only goal in the 1-0 win over Remo Stars on Matchday 12 and followed up with another strike in a 1-1 draw at Enyimba the next matchday.

The teenager was also responsible for Plateau United’s 2-1 loss at Agege Stadium with his brace and got another brace  against Rivers United in a 2-1 win.

He ended things in March with a goal in MFM FC 2-1 win over Abia Warriors against Abia Warriors winning the Award ahead of Samuel Mathias of El-Kanemi Warriors, Mfon Udoh of Enyimba and Nasarawa United goalkeeper Suraj Ayeleso.

Meanwhile, Stephen odey won the prestigious award in January as the first winner o the season.
