April 22nd, 2017 Oni Segun Football, News 0 comments

Chelsea are FA cup finalist after a victory over Tottenham Hotspur. The game ended 4-2 in a favour of the Blues.

Tottenham came from behind twice courtesy of goals by Kane and Alli to cancel out Willians Double in the first half.

Hazard who  started from the bench restored the lead for Conte’s men before Matic superb goal sealed the victory.

Toby Anderweireld’s foul on Pedro resulted in a free kick which Willian buried into the net.

Kane equalised in the 18th minute, heading the ball past the goalkeeper thanks to a timely run to meet Eriksen’s pass.

With three minutes left in the first half, Chelsea were awarded a controversial penalty after Victor Moses went down in the 18yard box following a tackle by Son but replay showed that the Nigerian dived.

Willian made no mistake from the spot as he scored his second for the night.

Alli equalised once again for Pochettino’s side as he scored a brilliant goal, and credit must be given to Christian Eriksen for a wonderful pass to pick out the midfielder.

Conte, neeeding creativity and more charge on goal brought on Costa and Hazard to replace Batashuayi and scorer Willian. Hazard made an impact and a scored the third goal for the Blues with 15minutes left.

Tottenham, hoping to come back the third time were left disappointed as Matic scored a 25yards stunner to round off the goals of the night.

Spurs kept on pressuring afterwards but couldn’t find a breakthrough.

This happens to be Spurs seventh consecutive semi-final defeat – a run which stretches back to the last time they lifted the trophy in 1991.

Chelsea will play the winner between Manchester city and Arsenal on Sunday in the final of the FA cup.
