ABS FC, fullback Anaekwe Ebuka says the match against El-Kanemi Warriors on Sunday, will be a different ball game and the Maidugri-based club won’t be lucky this time around.
The Saraki boys lost their last match in the first round of the 2017 NPFL, 1-0 to EL-Kanemi warriors in Maidugri, and will be looking to cause same damage to Ladan Bosso led team, as they square-up in Ilorin on Sunday.
ABS FC had a good start to the season, until the draw at home against Enyimba FC, which was the start of consecutive bad runs, that ended on Matchday 18, when Nasarawa United lost 1-0 to the Saraki Boyd in Ilorin.
The Henry Makinwa led side finished the first round in 12th position with 25points and still unbeaten at home.
El-Kanemi Warriors on the other hand, finished the first round in third place with 33points, 2points behind League leaders, Plateau United.
The turnaround for Warriors was the away win gotten in Umuahaia against Abia Warriors, which has made the team, one to consider for the title, especially with the perfect home record, that has been running since last season.
In an interview with Sportlens360, ABS fullback, Anaekwe Ebuka discussed how they are a better team than Warriors and taking their chances could be vital for them.
“I will say we will come out victorious in this encounter, because they were our last opponent before we went on break. However, the match was not what we really expected, we were thinking they will outplay us and beat the hell out of us but it was the other way round, it was just a slight error from our defence that gave them the lone goal.”
“Playing them on our ground will be a different ball game, because we have a better pitch and we play better football than them. I just pray we make use of any chance we get during the course of the game.”
ABS FC and El-Kanemi Warriors will lock horns at Kwara Stadium Complex on Sunday, at Match Kickkoff of 4pm.
