Akwa United midfielder, Ifeanyi Ifeanyi, has maintained that it always feel good playing against his former team but still playing to win for his team.

MFM Fc finished the first round games, on 33points in 2nd place, 2points behind league leaders, Plateau United.

The two teams locked horns in Uyo, on Matchday 19, but the Promise Keepers came tops with a 3-0 win.

Meanwhile, MFM FC are yet to drop any points at home through the first round and will be looking to continuing that impressive home record.

Former MFM FC player, who now ply his trade for Akwa United, Ifeanyi Ifeanyi says the team is ready to get the maximum points in Lagos during an interview with Sportlens360.

“It feels very good coming back to Lagos to play against MFM FC, where everything started and we are not in Lagos for Childs play, we are here to win and get the maximum points.”

Ifeanyi, who played for MFM FC, through the Second Division days, and also through last season in the NPFL also shared reason for the sudden resurgence at Akwa United after slow start to the season.

“We didnt start the season quite well, but we kept on working hard, believed in God. Now we are soaring high, but this is just the beginning.”

The promise Keppers are currently 5th on the NPFL log, with 29points gathered through the first round.
