Kano Pillars defender, Jamiu Alimi has urged his immediate former team, Shooting Stars who are battling with relegation, to work harder after their stalemate draw in Ibadan on Wednesday.

The Nigeria International, moved to Sai MaGida, at the start of last season from Oluyole Warriors, after an impressive season with the club, coupled with his National Team callup.

Alimi was one of the standout players for Kano Pillars in the 0-0 draw in the game against Shooting Stars, as his height helped, in not allowing lots of peenetration from crosses.

Speaking with Sportlens360, Jamiu Alimi expressed how it was emotional playing against his former team.

“It’s always emotional playing against Shooting Stars being my immediate former team. They need to work harder, because the league is getting tougher everyday.”

He continued discussing Kano Pillars chances this season after getting an away draw.
“It’s feels good getting an away draw, the first round is gone, however we are trying our best to get at least a continental ticket this season.”

Kano Pillars are currently 11th on the Log after Matchday 23, and will play double home games against embattled Sunshine Stars and MFM FC respectively before traveling to Ilorin to face ABS FC.
