Ostersunds FK striker, Alhaji Gero believes his team can go against all odds to knock out a big side like Galatasary, out of the Europa League qualification.
The former Flying Eagles striker, played a big role in the first leg, as the Swedish side overcame Galatasary 2-0 last week.
Ostersunds FK won promotion in 2015 to the Sweden first division Allsvenskan for the first time and they won their first major silverware in the Swedish Cup with a 4-1 victory over IFK Norrköping.
The cup success gave them a chance in Europe against Galatasaray, whose decorated history in the competition includes lifting the UEFA Cup in 2000 when they beat Arsenal on penalties in the final.
In an interview with Sportlens360, the former Kaduna United striker shared his optimism towards the tie.
“it feels good to beat them in the first leg, but it is only half of the job done. so we are focused on the game on Thursday against them. We will do our best and see what happens.”
Galatarasy, who have been a consistent team in the UEFA Champions League will miss out this season after finishing fourth in the Turkish League last season. However, Ostersunds are in turkey to make sure they don’t participate in any European Competition as the two face-off at the Turk Telekom Stadium on Thursday.
