July 20th, 2017 Dammy Dudu NPFL Updates 0 comments

Kano Pillars, duo Nwagua Nyima and Coach Ibrahim Musa have both been named the player and coach of the month of June by the League Bloggers Awards (LBA).

Nwagua Nyima won the June award, scoring three of Kano Pillars nine goals as he beats the likes of Lobi Stars forward, Anthony Okpotu, ABS FC winger Adeshina Gata, and Musa Newman of Akwa United to the award.

He scored twice in their 2-1 home win over Lobi Stars and then netted once in the 3-1 success against Sunshine Stars, also at home.

On Matchday 26, Nwagua Provided an assist  for Rabiu Ali’s header goal which gave them a point at ilorin against ABS FC in a match that ended one-all.

The former Lobi Stars man simply cracked it ahead of Newman as his team finished top of the pile for June with his contribution being a key factor.

Musa, only in his first season in charge as head of the Kano Pillars coaching crew, led the club to an unbeaten run in the month of June by not losing any match out of five.

They defeated Lobi Stars, Sunshine Stars and MFM FC in their home games played behind closed doors and then got two draws on the road at 3SC and ABS FC.

Musa won the award ahead of coaches like Gbenga Ogunbote of Enyimba, Bala Nikyu of Wikki Tourists and Enugu Rangers trainer Chukwuma Agbo in the manager’s category.

It is the first time that both Kano Pillars men are winning the LBA monthly award.
