Sunshine Stars striker, Thompson Ezekiel could not contain his excitement after netting the winner against Rivers United, in the 1-0 away win on Wednesday.

The former El-Kanemi forward,  has been influential since moving to the Akure side from Wikki Tourists. He scored the fourth goal in the 4-2 win against ABS FC in Ilorin, and now the winner against Rivers United in Port Harcourt.

His goal has moved Sunshine Stars away from the relegation zone up to 14th on the NPFL log,  with just 8games left to the end of the season.

In an interview with Sportlens360, Thompson exoressed his joy, being influential for his team.

“I feel like I’ve been given some huge amount of money, I’m very happy about how things went down in Port-Harcourt. All thanks to God for everything he has done for me.”

He also went on to praise his coach, Duke Udi.

“He is a very good coach, because he is making us work harder in other to take the team get to the top and that’s what we are doing.”

Sunshine Stars will now play El-Kanemi Warriors at their temporary home,  Dipo Dino Stadium, Ijebu Ode on Matchday 31, which comes up on Sunday.
