Akwa United’s Coach Abdu Maikaba has expressed confidence that his team has the quality and capacity to record a second away win of the season in Maiduguri when they confront El-Kanemi Warriors this weekend in a Matchday 32 fixture of the Nigeria Professional Football League NPFL.
Coach Maikaba believes that El-Kanemi Warriors is beatable in Maiduguri and his team can get a positive result on Sunday.
“We are impressed with our away form and our expectation is to continue with that form in Maiduguri on Sunday”.
” Many people think that El-Kanemi Warriors is unbeatable in Maiduguri but we have a team that can win any match in the league irrespective of the venue”.
“El-Kanemi Warriors is a good team and their home form is great but we will approach the game with a winning mentality because my players are fully aware of the importance of the match and our ambitions this season”.
The 2015 Federation Cup Champions will go into the contest on the back of three wins, two draws and one defeat in their last six matches. And they will be poised to continue with their good away form which has seen the Uyo based side picked one win, six draws while suffering eight losses in their fifteen away matches this season.
The Promise Keepers will welcome back four of its players; Vice Captain Ariwachukwu Emmanuel, Alhassan Ibrahim, Ifeanyi Ifeanyi and Aremu Afeez who are in the CHAN camp into the team that will face El-Kanemi Warriors on Sunday.
Third placed Akwa United who have scored 38 goals in the league could move up to second position on the log if they avoid defeat in Maiduguri and Remo Stars beat MFM in Sagamu.
