Ogunye thrilled to help MFM FC fight for the title

July 31st, 2017 Dammy Dudu NPFL Updates 0 comments

MFM FC striker, Austine Ogunye says he is thrilled to have grabbed the winner in the SouthWest Derby on Sunday against Remo Stars in a Matchday 32 fixture of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) in Shagamu.

The former Unicem Rovers striker, was brought on in the 60th minute to replace League’s top scorer, Stephen Odey who had earlier missed a spot kick despite playing it on two attempts.

Ogunye grabbed the winner 10minutes after coming on,  with a fine finish from Adebayo Waheed assist to move the Olukoya boys to 3points behind League Leaders, Plateau United who are on 58points.

In an interview with Sportlens360, Ogunye expressed his joy in helping the team fight for the title till the finish.

“It’s a very important goal and victory for the team so I feel very happy to have helped score the vital goal”.

The delta born continued, explaining how the away win in Shagamu will help the Club’s ambition of winning the title.

“The win is really going to help the team fight for the league title till the end”.

The Olukoya boys will next face seven time Champions, Enyimba at the Soccer Temple, Agege on Matchday 33.
