Shooting Stars midfielder, Abayomi Adebayo says, he is full of optimism that the team will survive relegation this season after netting the winner in the 2-0 win over Nasarawa United on Sunday.
It was looking like a bad day in office, as the Solid miners held the Oluyole Warriors to stalemate draw in the first half of the game, until substitute Sunday Faleye who came on for Wasiu Jimoh grabbed the opener in the 60th minute from a goalmouth scramble. The ‘Kante’ like midfielder, Abayomi Adebayo then added the second goal in the 64th minute with a solo effort.
Although the win on Sunday, didn’t change the position of the Oluyole Warriors in 17th, despite the fact that there is just three games to the end of the season, but the win on Sunday have raised much hopes that the team might make it out of relegation.
Adebayo Abayomi speaking to Sportlens360, was full of joy after the goal.
“I feel so excited scoring that goal against the goal against Nasarawa United on Sunday.”
The former FC Midtjylland midfielder, who also played for IK Oddevold and IK Gauthiod in sweden continued.
“We hope to get maximum points in our remaining games against Elkanemi Warriors, Akwa United and Niger Tornadoes, possibly 7points out of 9points. I’m very optimistic that Shooting Stars will survive the relegation battle”.
