FC IfeanyiUbah goal poacher, Godwin Obaje says his move to the Nnewi based club was the best option for him amidst several interest at the end of the 2015/2016 season of the Nigeria Professional Football League.
Obaje moved to FC IfeanyiUbah at the start of the 2016/2017 season, netting 12 goals for the Anambra Warriors, although with a disappointing finish in the Nigeria Professional Football League (9th position), having finished 4th in the previous season.
In an exclusive interview with Sportlens360, Obaje says he is not dissapointed with his performance in his first season with FC IfeanyiUbah.
“I don’t feel disappointed not retaining the highest goal scorer title, because it has never happened in the history of the League to win it consecutively, but I thank God I was able to hit double figure at the end.”
The former Wikki Tourists forward, who bagged the 2015/2016 top scorer award with 18goals continued, saying the move to FC IfeanyiUbah was the best option for him.
“The move to FC IfeanyiUbah was the best option for me. When they approached me, I felt it was the right time to face a new challenge having done my best with Wikki Tourists. Elu Wilson is helping me settle down here well, he has been a source of encouragement and also my best friend in the team. ”
