Manchester city midfielder Illkay Gundogan has revealed that he is close to full fitness after several months on the sideline.
The 27-year-old has made just 16 league appearances since joining Guardiola’s team last season.
Gundogan who has been included in Germany’s squad for friendlies against England and France spent nine months out with a knee ligament damage but has bene working hard to return to Manchester city’s starting XI.
When asked about his level of fitness by ESPN, Gundogan said: “If you want a figure, I’d say 70%, maybe 80%. I still lack playing rhythm.
“I’ve not started every match, but other than that I feel fine. I am in a shape where I can start, and that’s the most important thing.”
Manchester city are currently sits at the top of the premier league table and remain unbeaten across all competitions
