The Super Eagles of Nigeria played out a 1-1 draw with Algeria in their last game of the Russia 2018 World Cup Qualifiers, ending the phase on an unbeaten run.
Nigeria have already booked its place in the Russia 2018 World Cup before the game against Algeria on Friday night in Constantine and the match was just a dead-rubber game.
The first half of the game ended in stalemate as both teams failed to find the back of the net.
In the 62nd minute, John Ogu who had received a yellow card scored a well taken volley from outside the 18 yards box from a rebound that beat Algerian keeper into the net.
Yazine Ibrahimi was lucky not to receive a straight red card when he headbutted Shehu Abdulahi who retaliated against him, but the centre referee cautioned Yazine with a yellow card.
Leceister city forward Slimani missed a chance to equalise for Algeria as he missed a sitter when he puts the ball over the bar after the ball had already beaten Ezenwa the Super Eagles keeper.
In the 86th minute of the game, a controversial penalty was awarded to Algeria after the referee claimed Shehu Abdullahi had fouled Algerian Player in the Nigeria box.
Slimani leveled for Algeria with the well taken Spot Kick and in no time, the referee ended the game.
Nigeria will now play Argentina on Tuesday, November 14th in Krasnodar, Russia in a friendly game prior to the World Cup proper.
