Abubakar Bukola Saraki (Ilorin) Football Club has officially put the team’s resumption for the new season for Wednesday, January 10, and has also cleared the youth team to participate in the forthcoming Gold Cup competition.
These were parts of resolutions reached at the end of an emergency management meeting on Friday at the club’s secretariat, Ilorin.
The Team’s Director of Football, Alloy Chukwuemeka, who presided over the meeting said the Chairman of the club Mr. Seni Saraki, will soon approve the programme of the Club ahead of the coming season.
While briefing members on pending issues and the preparation for the new season, Chukwuemeka said that the youth team, which will have other selected players will play in the Gold Cup.
He added that the participation in the competition which kicks off on Wednesday November 15 will be preparatory for the club’s 2018 NNL season.
He expressed delight with the promotion of six more players from the U-15 team to the main team, apart from the initial three; David Okoromi, Olusegun Olakunle and Mubarak Oyelade.
The six players are Shola Abdulraheem, Murtala Isiaka, Abubakar Azeez, Abeeb Isiaka, Ayeni Joshua and Afeez Ajao.
He charged the youth team and it’s coaches to participate fairly in the competition that will be competed by 10 teams.
ABS FC will play from Group B alongside Katsina United, MFM FC, Niger Tornadoes and Ebedei FC, and will square up against Ebedei FC in their first match on Thursday November 16.
The first group, Group A has Kano Pillars, Kwara United, Rivers United, Lobi Stars and Remo Stars FC.
