Ivory Coast Football Federation has parted ways with on mutual consent with coach Marc Wilmots after failing to qualify for the Russia World Cup 2018.
Wilmots, who was appointed as the coach of the side
six months ago failed to lead the Elephants to the 2018 World Cup, which they had featured in since 2006.
The Elephants had the lifeline of making it to the Mundial just by beating Morocco on Saturday, but lost 2-0 at home and that was the last game, wilmots took charge of as Ivory Coast Coach.
In a statement on social media, Wilmots thanked the fans, players and members of the Federation for their efforts under him.
“Today it was decided by mutual agreement to terminate the collaboration with Cote d’voire football federation. I want to thank fans, players and leaders. I wish them the best in the future”.
