The General Manager of Plateau United Football Club of Jos, Pius Henwan says the team will register 50 players for the fourthcoming football season. Henwan stated this during an interview with newsmen at the Rwang Pam Stadium, jos. Henwan explained that the decision to register the 50 players became necessary due to the team involvement in the CAF champions league, Nigeria Professional Football League and the Aiteo cup next season.
The general manager said some new players have been recruited to fortify the team before the commencement of the 2017/2018 NPFL which kick-off in january. He noted that the recruitment of the new players became expedient in order to replace the void created by the departure of 12 players who were released at the end of last season due to one reason or the other.
Henwan pointed out that the team will participate in a pre-season tournament in kano next week where the technical crew will use the tournament to test the newly recruited players. The club helsman disclosed that efforts are on for the team to embark on a close camping outside the country where the team is expected to map out plans for their continental campaign by playing some quality friendly matches with some foreign clubs.
On the delay in hosting the team after winning the NPFL title, the general manger, explained that government is working round the club to ensure a beffiting reception for the team for doing the state proud.
Henwan appealed for the support from all critical stakeholders to enable the team succeed and assured that the team will play its continental matches after the continuation of work at the abandoned Ultra Modern Sports Complex along Goodluck Jonathan road Jos.
