Lagos based club, Ikorodu United Football Club visited Home Of God’s Grace Orphanage at Ikorodu-Ikotun Road, Orphanage B/Stop, Agbowa Lagos State earlier today as the team embarked on a break after the completion of the 2018 bet9ja NNL season.
The home of God’s grace for orphans and widows is a non-governmental organization born out of the vision God gave to Mrs grace bosede boluwajoko in 1997. The home is specialized for the motherless, abandoned and less privileged children. It has given care to 94 children and supported 105 widows.
Matrons whom welcomed the Oga Boys said “the Orphanage is very happy to receive a football club of such passion to give back to the community and they hope someday one of their own can be part of Ikorodu United Footballer Club, Lagos State”. Talking to media
Present at the Orphanage was Oga Boys Captain Rafiu Monsuru, Omini Somtochukwu, Nwanochi Chukwudi Wisdom, Lemon Ayomide (Youth Player)Benson Edema (Assist Coach), Jagnor Adebogun (Youth Coach), Jimmy Onyx Bello (Goalkeeper Coach).
Oga Boys entourage expressed delight at the possibility of been able to give back to the community that has given the team support for so many years.
The players and coaching crew had quality time with the children. The children were excited to meet their favorite players, they had time to chat, sing & take pictures with them. It was a moment of beauty for the kids on getting to meet the players especially Omini A.K.A “The Rock”.
Omini expressed his disappointment in the just concluded Bet9ja NNL Season where Ikorodu United Fc came 3rd on the log but promised the children never to give up the fight next season.
Ikorodu United Fc finished 3rd on the Bet9ja NNL Season 2017/2018 B2 log behind Remo Stars (34), Delta Force (32) & Ikorodu United (29).
