Former FC Porto and Portimoneses defensive midfielder, Fidelis Irhene says he is focused on getting AEL Limassol to win the league title and hopefully get them into the UEFA Champions League qualifiers.
“I want to lead my team to the league shield which will afford us the only Champions League spot come the end of the season”.
“Like every football, playing for their national teams is a thing of pride and for me there is no exception but I will have to keep working hard for my club”. He said.
The versatile midfielder, also shared his thoughts on his dream team, disclosing that Old Trafford is desired place and will savor every moments if he gets the opportunity to play for the European Giants.
“In the past I have had links with some clubs in Russia, Bulgaria, Turkey, Greece and Belgium but due to some reasons i could not sign for any of them but hopefully at the end of the current season I will make the big move and also to a better league, Manchester United is my favorite and I dream to represent them someday but right now I am still building and developing myself, hopefully in the coming years I will play for them God’s willing, he concluded”.
Irhene has played 34 games since joining AEL Limassol, as they are currently placed third on the Cypriot league table with 45 points from 24 games, 8 points adrift bitter rivals and league leaders Appollon Limassol.
