Kano Pillars Striker, Nyima Nwagua says his goal in the 2-0 away win over Kada City On Wednesday has helped boost his confidence after a difficult start to the 2019 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season.
The win was the first away win for the Sai Masugida in three years and could be a big turn around for the team in the course of the season.
“I’m feeling really better; When the league started in January I didn’t score any goals before going off for trials. I resumed back this month and I’m feeling better and I try to do my best for the team,” Nwagua told Sportlens360.
Kano Pillars opened the scoring through Adamu Hassan early in the first half, before Nwagua sealed the win with a cool strike after a pass from Gambo Mohammed.
“With the away win, I think the team did very well and we are all happy about the result, we are feeling better of course. I feel the confidence is back,” Nwagua said.
Kano Pillars will welcome Group B table toppers, FC IfeanyiUbah to the Sani Abacha Stadium on Sunday in a Matchday 12 fixture of the 2019 NPFL season.
