Elkanemi Warriors Defender, Alimi Jamiu is relishing the chance to face his former side Kano Pillars when the two sides meet in one of the biggest Northern clash in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) on Sunday.
The Nigeria International moved to the Maiduguri-based side in the midseason transfer window in February from Akwa United and will be returning to face one eason of his former side in the NPFL.
‘There’s a lot of emotions involved because I had one of my best season in the professional game at Kano Pillars and made my mark in the National Level after that. However I represent another team now and I’m focused on winning the game in Kano on Sunday”. Alimi told Sportlens360.
Elkanemi Warriors are currently top of the log in the Group B of the 2019 NPFL abridged season with 25points after 13 round of games and Alimi believes the team is doing everything to end the season at that position.
“Not many people believe that we could be at this position and we are proving everyone wrong. The team is doing everything possible to finish at this position at the end of this season and we believe we can win the title”. Alimi concluded.
