The Super Eagles of Nigeria will be up for a revenge mission, as they were drawn against Togo in the WAFU Cup Opener which is scheduled to take place in Senegal later this year.
The draw which took place in Dakar, Senegal on Wednesday saw defending Champions, Ghana pitched against Gambia, the hosts Senegal will be up against Guinea-Bissau, while Ivory Coast will lock horns against Cape Verde.
It could be recalled that, the Super Eagles lost the 2011 edition of the WAFU Cup to Togo by losing 3-2 in the final, in a tournament which was hosted by Nigeria and they will be looking for a revenge when the two face off in Thies, Senegal on September 28.
Ghana are the defending Champions of The WAFU Cup, beating Nigeria 4-1 in the final of the 2017 edition which was hosted in Ghana.
The draw on Wednesday decided the first eight fixtures for the first phase of knockout matches with the winners of those matches progressing into the Cup phase of the competition while the losers will go into the Plate phase.
