Nigeria captain John Obi Mikel, has completed a two-year deal with Turkish Super Lig side, Trabzonspor, reports Sportlens360.com.
Mikel, 32, signed the two-year contract with the Turkish side, Trabzonspor with the option to extend for a further year.
“A 2 + 1 year agreement was signed with the free captain of the Nigerian National Team, Professional Footballer John Mikel Obi, with one-year option to transfer to our club,” reads a statement on the club’s official website.
The former Chelsea midfielder, will join two other Nigerians, Ogenyi Onazi and Anthony Nwaekeme who were key members of the Trabzonspor side.
It could be recalled that Mikel had a short stint Middlesbrough and after club refused to renew his contract, been without a club.
