Kano Pillars Forward, Nyima Nwagua has rejected the notion that his side might lack motivation in their Aiteo Cup semifinal clash against Calabar Rovers after beating Aklosendi Of Nasarawa in the Quaterfinals.
The Sai Masugida rose to the occasion in unforgettable fashion last week to dump Aklosendi FC out of the 2019 Aiteo Cup at Quaterfinals stage with a 4-0 win in Kaduna.
Calabar Rovers lie between Kano Pillars and another Aiteo Cup final in two years, with fans hoping to go one better than last season’s final defeat at the hands of Enugu Rangers.
Asked about the upcoming tie to take place on Thursday, Nwagua made it clear that neither he nor his teammates would be taking anything for granted.
“We are very ambitious. We will try everything. It’s a semifinal, it’s a big one for us. This is our second year at this stage. He told Sportlens360.
“The last time Kano Pillars won a title was five years ago and after missing out on the NPFL title, we want to win the Aiteo Cup. We will try everything to win the game.” He concluded.
Kano Pillars will be hoping to beat Calabar Rovers at Aper Aku Stadium In Makurdi and face either of Rivers United or Niger Tornadoes in the Aiteo Cup final.
