His first season with Rivers United, Skillful midfielder Kehinde Adedipe is on the path to win his first trophy with the club as they face Niger Tornadoes in the Semifinals Of the 2019 Aiteo Cup in Lagos.
The match which is scheduled to place at the Soccer Temple, on Thursday will see Rivers United battle relegated Niger Tornadoes in the Semifinals.
Speaking exclusively to Sportlens360, Adedipe said he expects a good fight from Niger Tornadoes despite being relegated from the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
“Niger Tornadoes are a good side, because we both played in the just concluded NPFL and they were relegated, but hat doesn’t mean they are a bad side. We should expect a tougher game unlike our previous games.” He said.
Adedipe who ended his longtime romance with his hometown team, Sunshine Stars before joining Rivers United also said the making the Aiteo Cup finals will go a long way in his career.
“Getting to this finals will have a long way to go in my life and my career because this is my first season with the club and I’m into the aiteo cup finals. We’re a step closer to the finals and I think we have all what it takes to get to the finals. He concluded.
The winner of this encounter will face the winner between Kano Pillars and Calabar Rovers, a fixture which will go down the same time but in Aper Aku Stadium, Makurdi.
