Nigeria Forward, Babajide Akintola was on target but his goal wasn’t enough to put Rosenborg through to the Champions League Group Stages after a 1-1 draw at the Lerkendal Stadium on Tuesday.
A first half strike by the former FC Ebedei Striker wasn’t enough as Amer Gojak scored late for Dinamo Zagreb to end their Champions League dreams.
Babajide Akintola put the hosts ahead in the 11th minute from close range and dominated the first half as they look for the leveler after losing the first leg 2-0 in Croatia.
Despite the pressure on the Croatians, substitute Amer Gojak with a long range effort restored parity in the 71st minute to put the game beyond the grasp of the Norwegian club.
Rosenborg will now focus on the Europa League for the season as the Group Stages draw will be made on Thursday.
