Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard has singled out defender, Fikayo Tomori as the most impressive player despite 2-1 loss to Liverpool at the Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
Chelsea’s poor start to the season continues as the blues fell to a 2-1 home loss to Liverpool.
Alexander-Arnold opened the scoring with a stunning goal after firing a shot into top corner from Salah’s laid off free kick in the 14th minute.
Chelsea thought they had leveled through Cesar Azipculeta just before the half-hour mark, but VAR picked Mason Mount to be offside in the build up.
Minutes later, Roberto Firmino increased the scoreline to 2-0 after a header from Robertson’s cross. Kante pulled one back for Chelsea in the 71st minute but it wasn’t enough to avoid the home loss.
Chelsea boss, Frank Lampard heaped praises on Fikayo Tomori despite the loss.
‘I have to single out Tomori. For a young player like him to go up against Mo Salah, who is lethal, and deal with him for pace and in the mind, I thought it was class. Everything he did was. Those are the signs I’m looking for individually. Lampard said.
Fikayo Tomori is eligible to play for Nigeria, England or Canada but he is yet to decide.
