Ifeanyi Ifeanyi has expressed his delight to be back home after making a return to Akwa United in view of the 2019/2020 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season.
The 24-year old who moved to Algerian side, ES Setif early this year, opted to terminate his contract with the club after eight months due to financial issues.
Ifeanyi, who represented Nigeria at the 2017 WAFU Tournament and 2018 CHAN Tournament spoke about his return to Akwa United exclusively to Sportlens360.com.
“Although it is the prayers of every player to play abroad and I wasn’t happy following the termination of my contract with ES Setif due to financial problems, but I’m happy to be home, because there is no place like home. I’m happy to be back with Akwa United”. He said.
Ifeanyi Ifeanyi played an integral role in Akwa United’s success in the 2017 Aiteo Cup, as they defeated Niger Tornadoes in the final.
“My expectations this season is to help akwa United win the NPFL title, because I won the Aiteo cup with them and I am ready to work hard to make sure as a team we are crowned champions of the 2019/2020 NPFL season”. He told Sportlens360.
Ifeanyi will be working with a new coach, John Obuh, who is a former coach of the Flying Eagles.
