Super Eagles Goalkeeper, Dele Alampasu has completed a move to Latvian club, FK Ventspils, the club announced on Thursday.
The 23-year old will join his fellow countryman, Alfa Abdullahi at the Latvian club as they look forward to winning their seventh league title.
Dele Alampasu won the golden glove as the best goalkeeper at the FIFA U-17 World Cup in 2013, when the Golden Eaglets of Nigeria claimed their fourth title. He made his Super Eagles debut in Nigeria’s 3-0 win against Togo in 2017.
He spent four seasons with Portuguese club Feirense before ending his contract last year.
“When I came up with an offer from Ventspils, I thought it was imperative to take such a great opportunity. This is a great opportunity to take it to a new level and get acquainted with the Europa League, which has always been my goal. I know that FKV is always playing on the international scene, and that makes a big impression. Honestly, I was shocked to learn that Ventspils had already played in the Champions League Group – a very high level! I want to repeat such a club achievement”. Alampasu said after completing the deal.
