Manchester united have booked their place in the semifinals of the Europa league after a win over Anderlecht on Thursday.
The match which ended in a 1-1 draw in normal regulation time had to be decided during extra time.
Sofiane Hanni strike cancelled out Henrikh Mkhitaryan effort to put the pair level.
However, Marcus Rashford’s goal in the second half of extra time proved vital as it was enough for the Red devils to go through into the last four of the competition.
It was Youngster Marcus Rashford that assisted the Armenian in the 10th minute to give Manchester united the lead.
Anderlecht should have levelled the scores in the 21st minutes after attacker Frank Acheampong was put through on goal but his effort missed Romero’s near post.
Maroune Fellaini who replaced Jesse Lingard made an impact in the game as Manchester united continued their search for a much needed goal.
Towards the end of the game, around the 90th minute clock, Zlatan Ibrahimovic was replaced by Anthony Martial after the Sweden International got injured after landing awfully on the ground.
The pressure kept on coming by Manchester united and they finally got the goal on 107th minute when Rashford found space in Anderlecht box before beating the keeper.
Acheampong almost equalised with a close range header but Romero was alert and made a crucial save as United booked their place in the last four of the Europa league.
