ABS FC became the least expected team to qualify from the Quarterfinals group stages after the rigorous screening exercise by the LaLiga Group, reduced the Saraki young boys to 11 out field players.
After so much deliberation, the ABS FC team officials called on an extra Goalkeeper, who had to come over from Ilorin to Lagos after the screening exercise.
Away from the dramatic situation of this team. 12matches were played in the Pool A and Pool B of the Quarterfinals draw and a match gave a birth to a new ‘Goal Poacher’.
Arguably, the highest scoring match so far in Lagos has been the game between ABS FC and Enugu Rangers which ended in a 3-3 draw. The game had ABS FC gone two goals up, and Rangers responding with 3 goals from Million Koma until a certain Olasoju Jamiu grabbed a last minute equaliser for ABS FC to complete his brace on that opening day in the Quarterfinals.
He wears the number 15 Jersey, and the beautiful part is, he never took part with the team at Oshogbo, where ABS FC finished second behind leaders Shooting Stars.
Olasoju Jamiu was called to action due to the multiple effect of rigorous screening. After the brace against Rangers on the opening day, he went on to score another brace for ABS FC in the second Match against Elkanemi Warriors where the team were dominant with a 4-0 win. However, we thought Jamiu had finished his run, until he scored the second goal that sealed their qualification to the Finals with a 2-0 win over Rivers United, taking his tally to 5goals.
Olasoju Jamiu is young, versatile, good in the air, have good positioning, good scorer, good winger and in that manner remain the only player to have scored in every match he has played in the Knockout Stages.
The NPFL U-15 Tournament is a developmental competition, which is created to help groom the future of tomorrow, with Olasoju Jamiu emergence, the future of Nigeria is in good shape.
