Cristiano Ronaldo nets hattrick as Real Madrid cruised to a comfortable win over Atletico Madrid in the first leg of the semifinals Champions League clash.
Real Madrid had a glorious chance as Dani Carvajal forced Oblak to a save which was directed towards the path of Benzema with the Frenchman firing wide from the rebound in the seventh minute.
Three minutes later, Ronaldo scored the first for the home side through a header from a Casemiro cross.

Ronaldo doubled the lead on the 73rd minute as Benzema struggled to hold the ball in front of Atletico defence before laying a pass for the Portuguese who fired a thunderous shot past Goalkeeper Oblak.
In the 86th minute, Cristiano completed his hattrick after Lucas Vazquez drove the ball into the 18yard box of Atletico before struggling to lay back a pass which met the Portuguese who calmly slotted the ball into the net.
The Result place Real Madrid in a better position and favorites to advance into the Final of the Champions League.
