Godspower Igudia has blamed the early exit of the Super Sand Eagles at the just concluded, Beach Soccer World Cup in Bahamas on the lack of proper preparations.
The Nigeria contigent, who had players like Abu Azeez, Godspower Igudia, Olawale Isiaka, Ikechwuku Ibenegbu, Victor Tale among others, crashed out of the Tournament having lost their first game 12-6 aganist Italy, and getting a last minute winner from Abu to claim a first win against Mexico, which in turn wasnt enough, as the Super Sand Eagles lost to Iran on Penalty shootout.
A member of the Super Sand Eagles, Godspower Igudia, who plays for NPFL side Akwa United, shared with Sportlens360 the experiences gotten there, and how the team lacked proper preparation.
“It was a very good experience. Despite the fact that we didnt qualify for the next round, we did our best. You cant compare your 10% preparation to others 90% preparation.”
“Early preparation goes a long way. But I believe we will improve next time.
