Katsina United seeking stay in the NPFL as they face Remo Stars

September 3rd, 2017 Dammy Dudu NPFL Updates 0 comments

Katsina United will be seeking to avoiding relegation with a home win against already relegated Remo Stars today.

‘The Chanji Boys’, who will therefore fight very hard to secure all the three points against Remo Stars, are occupying 13th position on the league table with 49 points from 36 games.

Remo Stars are rock bottom of the table with just 29 points from 36 games.

Katsina United are buoyed by a 2-0 home win over Sunshine Stars last weekend also at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium in Katsina.

Remo Stars on the other hand had nothing to lose in this game as they are already relegated but will give all their best to ensure they fight till the end.

They lost 2-1 to champions Rangers last week.
The reverse of this game was played in April when the Remo Stars ran away with a 1–0 victory.

Katsina United reliable defender Timothy Danladi will miss his second straight game for ‘The Chanji Boys’ owing to accumulation of yellow cards.

He has played 33 games for United this season and will feature in the final day game against Enyimba in Calabar.

“It’s so painful watching your team play from the stand. I was so disappointed with myself because I could not help my team when it mattered most,” Timothy Danladi told www.fckatsinaunited.com

“I have been doing my best in terms of prayer because that is the only way I can help the team since I am on suspension.

“Katsina United have come to stay in the Nigeria top flight league. That is exactly our target at the beginning of the season and I am sure we will remain in the NPFL.”

Previous Meeting

Both teams have not met before in any competitive game apart from the meeting in the first round of the ongoing NPFL season where Remo Stars won 1 – 0 at the Dina Dipo Stadium in Ijebu-Ode

Katsina united who are yet to lose a game at home since the beginning of the season will do everything possible on the pitch of play to secure all the three points knowing fully well that it’s this game that will determine their fate of staying in the Nigeria top flight league.
