Chelsea boss, Antonio Conte believes N’Golo Kante’s performance against former club Leicester reaffirms the fact that he is the Premier League’s best player.
Kante 26, scored a thunderbolt on familiar ground in Chelsea’s 2-1 win at the King Power Stadium on Saturday, continuing his fine form from last season.
The France international was voted PFA Player of the Year by his fellow professionals last term and was also the recipient of the Football Writers’ Association Footballer of the Year award.
“N’Golo is a fantastic player and is improving. I think he is now also very good with the ball. Before, people used to say without the ball he has great stamina, he is a great worker.
“But now with the ball, he is improving a lot – I’m happy with this. We are working a lot with him. Now I think he is a top player.
“How far up in the world is he? I don’t know but to be the best player of the Premier League last season is a great thing and this season he is confirming this.”
Kante’s screamer against The Foxes opened his account for the season.
