The Falconets of Nigeria defeated Tanzania 6-0 to complete a 9-0 aggregate final score in the World Cup qualifiers.
The 6-0 routing saw Rasheedat Ajibade and Folashade Ijamilusi get a brace each, with Imo Anam and Cynthia Aku also on the score sheet to advance the Nigeria U20 women team to the second round of the African qualifying series for next year’s FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup finals.
Having cruised past Tanzania on a 9-0 aggregate win, the Falconets will face Morocco in the second round of the 2018 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup qualifier.
Morocco progressed to the second phase for the first time in decades despite a 2-1 defeat to Senegal in Dakar on Saturday with first leg 2-0 win putting them through on a 3-2 aggregate win. In the second phase, Christopher Danjuma’s ladies will travel to Sale to face the east Africans on November 3, before welcoming them two weeks later in Nigeria.
