Akwa United midfielder, Aremu Afeez says he enjoyed the time spent with Captain of the Super Eagles, Mikel Obi and other senior players of the Super Eagles team.
Afeez Aremu, who received a first time call-up to the Senior National Team by Coach Gernot Rohr, was full excitement having trained and camped with the team ahead of the Crunchy World Cup qualifiers against Zambia.
The match which saw, Arsenal youngster, Alex Iwobi grabbing a late winner for the Super Eagles as a substitute, got Nigeria a place in the upcoming World Cup in Russia 2018.
Speaking to Sportlens360, Afeez Aremu withheld What he had learn from the experience, but couldn’t hold the excitement in having such experience.
‘It was a good experience for me to play, train and eat together with a player like Mikel Obi and the rest of the Super Eagles Team. I learn a lot from the few days I spent with them but I can’t disclose things I learnt.
Aremu Afeez is joined by his Akwa United midfield pair, Ifeanyi Ifeanyi in the Super Eagles, although not the first time for the latter. Both players helped Akwa United beat Sunshine Stars 3-1 in Uyo on Sunday, as they set up a final with Niger Tornadoes in the 2017 Aiteo Cup which will take place in Lagos on the 15th of October.
