Netherlands Eredivisie side, Sparta Rotterdam have announced the signing of Super Eagles goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye on a 2-year contract, with an option to extend for 2 years.
The 20-year old, who made his debut for Nigeria against Brazil in a friendly match in November, 2019 has joined the Dutch side from Fortuna Düsseldorf 2 on a free transfer.
Sparta Rotterdam coach, Henk Van Stee spoke about the value, Maduka Okoye can add to the team.
‘With Maduka we bring in a great talent, who has a lot of potential. So many clubs from different countries were after him, but he believes he can take the next step at Sparta. We believe he can be of value to this club and are happy that he signed here.” Henk said.
Sparta Rotterdam got promoted to the Netherlands top division in 2018/2019 season and finished on 11th position in the 2019/2020 season.
