Musa Najare believes Gombe United are ‘coming back better’ after a poor start

Najare sends appreciation to Gombe United fans

Musa Najare believes that Gombe United are ‘coming back better now’ after a horror start to the 2022 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season.

Gombe United, who got promoted back to the NPFL last season, have amassed 14 points in their last 8 matches to turn their season around despite a slow start to the season.

Najare told Sportlens360: ‘We had a slow start to the season, but I think we are coming back better now in the last few matches and we want to do the same until the end of the season.

“We got a point away at Heartland, before we ended the unbeaten run of Remo Stars and I think that was the turning point for us. We will keep working hard in training for us to finish well this season.

“We have a good coach (Aliyu Zubairu) and he is technically sound. He believes so much in my wealth of experience in the league and some other players.” Najare told Sportlens360.

The former Enyimba FC striker also credited the influence of Gombe United fans in their home matches.

“We have many passionate fans in Gombe and they have been amazing through this season. I want to appreciate them, because they give us a lot of energy to deliver.” Najare added.

Gombe United, who are currently 10th on the NPFL log will host league leaders, Rivers United in their next game.
