Nyima Nwagua happy with first Rivers United goal in win against Kwara United

Nwagua enjoying partnership with Ishaq Rafiu

Nyima Nwagua, Rafiu Ishaq and Ebube Duru found the back of the net helping Rivers United  cruise to a 3-0 win over Kwara, keeping their unbeaten run intact.

Rivers United made a strong start to the game, as Nyima Nwagua netted his first goal for the Port-Harcourt based side in the 32nd minute of the game.

The former Kano Pillars striker, was hacked down in the box and won a penalty for Rivers United, which Ishaq Rafiu calmly slotted home in the 52nd minute. Ebube Duru added the third in the 55th minute to hand Rivers United their 3rd win of the season.

Speaking with Sportlens360, Nyima Nwagua reflected on his first goals for Rivers United.

“I’m very happy with the win. We dominated and played very well. It’s always a relief scoring your first goal after joining a new team. I hope that I can always help the team win every time.

“The partnership with Ishaq Rafiu is working pretty well and it’s something that will surprise the league”. He told Sportlens360.

Rivers United will face MFM FC next in Lagos for their Matchday 7 fixture.
