Lukman Ahmed-Shaibu reflects on Sutherland win over Rangers

Lukman happy with his assist for the second goal in the 5-goal thriller

Lukman Ahmed-Shaibu was delighted for playing an important role in Sutherland Sharks 3-2 win over Mt Druitt Town Rangers at the Popondetta Park on Friday.

The 29-year old, who was a former player of Mt Druitt Town Rangers before joining Sutherland Sharks in February, assisted the second goal for Sharks in the 5-goal thriller.

Speaking with Sportlens360 after the game on Friday, Lukman said it was a great feeling to play against his former team and also help Sharks move up the table.

“It was really amazing to play against my former team and it also felt good to get the win and also knowing I could help the team secure the three points. Now we sit mid table and we can push to move up.

“I got an assist in the game but still waiting on my first goal for the club. Hopefully it comes sooner, but the most important thing is the team’s progress.” Lukman told Sportlens360.

Sutherland Sharks are now placed fourth on the Australian NPL NSW table and will host Sydney Youth in their next game on Saturday.
