Tobi Adeleye dropped an impressive performance in the Value Jet Cup 2022 preseason tournament, as Shooting Stars held Plateau United to a stalemate on Sunday.
The lanky defender attempted to prove himself for Shooting Stars in the preseason tournament, so as to finalize a deal for the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side in view of the 2022/2023 season.
Shooting Stars lost their first two games at the preseason tournament against Vandrezzer FC and Ijebu United but Tobi Adeleye was missing in both games. He played the full length of the third game against Plateau United and managed to deal with the threat of Nenrot Silas, Izuchukwu Chimezie and Albert Hilary.
The former Union Sportive Baboni defender revealed that Shooting Stars are truly interested in him and will hope that his fine performance in this tournament will convince Gbenga Ogunbote.
He signed for Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) FC in the 2019/2020 season before moving to Karamone FC in 2021. He signed for Beninose club, Union Sportive Baboni in 2021 and enjoyed a full season with the team.
Tobi Adeleye will have another chance to prove himself when Shooting Stars play their last group game against Remo Stars on Monday night in Ikenne.
