Hogan Ukpa settling in quickly to life at FC Struga

‘My teammates took me as a brother’

Hogan Ukpa says he is settling in quickly to life at new team, FC Struga despite coming from a different type of league.

The 20-year old joined the North Macedonia side from Latvian side, FK Liepaja in the summer and has revealed that he is getting familiar with things in his new team.

“This club was created just 7 years ago, but I like the way things are done here. It is the more reason why I joined the club in the first place. I knew that I could excel as a player in this club.

“Moving from Liepaja to Struga wasn’t quite easy for me, because at first, things were quite strange but I’ve somehow settled so well in this club.

“It’s a different type of league but I have adjusted so well. I’m the only African player here but my teammates take me as a brother.” Ukpa told Sportlens360 in an interview.

FC Struga is currently top of the standings after Matchday 7 and are yet to lose any point this season. They will play at home to Tikvesh in their Matchday 8 fixture on Friday.

“We want to maintain this form, but we know it’s not going to come easy for us. As long as we keep working as a team, we will always get the job done at the end of every game.” Ukpa said in view of Friday’s game.

Hogan Ukpa has scored 1 goal and made 3 assists since joining FC Struga in the summer.
