Leicester City can bounce back against Tottenham – Kelechi Iheanacho

Iheanacho wants the team to work together

Kelechi Iheanacho believes Leicester City can bounce back from the slow start of the season with a win against Tottenham Hotspur this weekend.

The foxes have garnered just one point in six matches played so far this season and will be looking to win their first game of the season when they face Conte’s men at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday.

Nigeria International, Kelechi Iheanacho who scored a goal for Leicester City in their last game, a 5-2 loss to Brighton & Hove, said a win against Tottenham will be the best way to turn things around this season.

“It would be massive – so, so massive for the Club and for everyone involved. A win would give us the momentum to go forward this season. We need to defend as a team, attack as a team and just work hard as a team.

“We have been preparing very, very hard for this and hopefully it turns around this weekend. Training has been going quite well. The message has always been that we stick together whether we lose or win but right now we need to show character, hunger and desire.

“As players and as a team we know we can get the results we need, we showed that last season. So far this season, it’s just turned out the other way. We have great quality in this team, so we just need to believe in ourselves and get the points to get us back up there this season.”

Iheanacho also said the team needs to work and stick together, in other to get out of their current predicament.

“We haven’t started well this season but I think we have been playing well. Every game, the outcome has not been good, but we need to stick together, we need to show character and we need to represent the Club and represent our families.

“We are not in good momentum at the moment but we do have a great quality in our team and we just have to stick together to come back. There’s still a lot of games left but we just need to start winning games now. We’re working really hard in training, so the wins will come.” Iheanacho said.
