Adedeji disclose his relationship with Samson Siasia

Former Nigeria U-20 star, Yinka Adedeji has revealed why he left football despite being on form with his club, Shooting Stars in 2016.

The 36-year old, who is currently based in California, United States enjoying life after football has shed more light on the reason why he ended his football career.

Speaking in an interview with NPFL Undiluted group on Tuesday, the fullback reveals that the environment and his injury made him choose to end his football career at the time.

“I had an early retirement, Yes, but you all know how injury prone I was during those days and at some point I also have to understand that I was living in a society that the Nigerian factor always come into play.


“I knew the effect of an environmental factor that affects not only footballers in Nigeria but every child’s dream of becoming a goal achiever. It was a tough decision for me, but I knew it was also the best decision for me.” Adedeji said.

Yinka Adedeji, who was part of the Nigeria U-20 team who won silver in Holland 2005 U-20 World Cup also spoke highly of Samson Siasia, who was the coach of the team at the time.

“I have a good relationship with Samson Siasia. He remains a great part of my life. I will definitely have an incomplete biography without his name mentioned.” He added.
