Alimi Adebayo vows to ‘keep fighting’ for relegation-threatened MFM FC

Alimi believes the Olukoya boys won’t get relegated

Alimi Adebayo has insisted that he will continue to fight for MFM FC not to get relegated from the Nigeria Professional Football League.

The young defender, who is currently playing his second season with MFM FC was involved in the draw against Niger Tornadoes at the Goal Project, Abuja on Wednesday.

MFM FC went ahead in the 14th minute after Richie Eguavoen smashed home the ball from Chukwudi Ekeocha’s assist.

Niger Tornadoes restored parity in the 36th minute through former MFM FC striker, Adeniji Kabiru but the Ikoh Allah boys couldn’t get the winner despite creating many chances against Olukoya boys.

Although, MFM FC are still placed bottom of the NPFL log after Matchday 16, but Alimi Adebayo believes the team can fight hard to beat relegation.

“We started slow at the beginning of the season and it really affected us a lot. We have not lost in four games, which is the momentum we need to see off this relegation battle.

“I will keep fighting alongside my teammates, and we will take it one game at a time. I believe that this team can beat the drop.” Alimi told Sportlens360.
