Nyima Nwagua: “We must bounce back quickly from Sunshine Stars loss”

Nyima Nwagua says Kano Pillars players have to stand up and be counted by immediately bouncing back from their defeat against Sunshine Stars in the Aiteo Cup Quaterfinals.
The 4-time league champions were stunned by Sunshine Stars with a lone strike from Sadeeq Yusuf on Friday, to hand them their first loss in the Aiteo Cup since 2018.
“We tried our best against Sunshine Stars but we couldn’t hit the target and it was really disappointing”. Nwagua told Sportlens360 in an interview.
“When you do get a defeat, there’s nothing worse than waiting time to get back out on the pitch to play and put things right.” He continued.
“We didn’t expect it. We came into the game confident, but we’ve got to pick ourselves up.
“We are still disappointed, it hurts, but today is a big game and we’ve got to bounce back against Abia Warriors in the league, so we can finish in a better place”. Nwagua concluded.
