Musa Najare has hit the ground running in the Bangladeshi Premier League after scoring on his debut for Sheikh Jamal in their 2-0 win over Uttar Baridhara on Sunday.
The former Enyimba FC striker joined the Yellow Fear last week after signing on a one-year contract with the team.
Chijoke Alaekwe, who was also signed alongside Musa Najare, scored the opener with only two minutes of play after he netted from a goal-mouth melee following a long throw-in by Raihan Hasan.
Musa Najare doubled Sheikh Jamal’s lead with a cleaver header on a long-ball over onrushing goalkeeper Mamun Alif in the 21st minute.
Speaking with Sportlens360 in an interview after the game, the former Gombe United striker said he is happy to hit the ground running and hope to hit double figures for Sheikh Jamal this season.
“I’m happy to hit the ground running in Bangladesh. I just hope to continue like this for this team. I just want to keep scoring and maintain this form.
“My target is for my goals to help this team in every way and personally I hope to hit double figure in goals.” Najare told Sportlens360.
Sheikh Jamal are the only unbeaten team in the league after 12 round of matches and will play at home against Muktijoddha SKC in their next game on Friday.
